NEW Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) programs are
currently being applied for by Lyceum of Subic Bay for the academic year 2012-2013.
Applied Technology or Autotronics will provide an in-depth understanding about electronic control systems and componentry in motor vehicle sub-systems. It is basically concerned on finding faults and diagnosing automotive electronic problems, developing a sound knowledge of engine management and electronic transmission. It is the introductory program for Auto Servicing which on the other hand, is composed of electrical security system, as well as service and repair of electronic engine management system. Both programs have core competencies and each has a duration of one year.
Interested students may have a choice to either complete Autotronics alone or pursue Auto Servicing after being successfully assessed and certified by TESDA.
The building for the new programs will be located at the back part of the school. The teaching staff are already available, as well as the special equipment which are needed for learning and training. The classroom is not a typical one, as it requires a more complicated environment.
The employment and industry sectors’ demand in automotive is increasing especially in Australia and Taiwan. After successfully completing and passing these programs, the graduates will be ready to begin work as an auto electrician or auto electronic apprentice here and abroad. Certificates accredited by TESDA are honored not only locally but internationally as well, making the new programs promising careers for students who will enroll.
