Greetings from Lyceum of Subic Bay

AlBorda"Success is measured not so much of what has been accomplished, but by the challenges that were withered and the courage to maintain the struggles against overwhelming odds". These words of wisdom from aviation pioneer Charles Lindberg, aptly depict the road Lyceum of Subic Bay traveled through, since its establishment in June 2003. The initial two years of its operation then under the name , National College of Science and Technology (NCST), was littered with enormous difficulties that at one point, we almost gave up. Believing in destiny, that nothing happens by accident, we held on. Fired with the desire to pursue a vision of establishing an institution that could empower the young people to effect positive changes in their lives through education and become responsive and productive individual members of global community, we did not "abandon the ship". We maintained the struggles against the odds, thus in 2005, Lyceum of Subic Bay, Inc. was born!

Looking back after five years, we realized that the challenges were integral parts of   the fine stones that now strongly hold the institution's foundation. Indeed, out of struggles come the strength of character and the wisdom to persevere in behalf of the "now generation" it has to educate and train. For these are the young people who shall step into the shoes of the older generation, hold the reigns of government and man the   industries in the future.

Compared to the more established and bigger educational institution, Lyceum of Subic Bay at five years, is just a "babe in the woods". However young as it is, it has blazed a trail as it emerged the "Best Performing School in Customs Administration, National Level", garnering the FIRST, THIRD, SIXTH, NINTH places in the Customs Brokers Licensure Examinations administered by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC). Its Electronics and Communication Engineering examinees registered a 57% board passing, much higher than the national passing average of 36%. True enough, it is not how many years one lives but how the years were lived!

We shall not rest on these laurels however. Rather, we take it as a larger challenge to not only maintain, but better our achievements. With our great faith in the Almighty and the unwavering support and commitment of administrators, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, students, parents, local officials and other community partners. We are confident that God's destiny for Lyceum of Subic Bay, will not remain an impossible dream. Through the institution's vision and mission, we shall continuously imbibe the Lyceum core values of Excellent and dynamic service, educational partnership, human resource development, moral and spiritual leadership among our students to be able to make a difference.

After all, "Life is not meaningful unless it is serving an end beyond itself and unless it is a value to someone else"
